World Flag Database: A Comprehensive Resource for Flag Enthusiasts
World Flag Database is a free Android-based application that offers a vast collection of over 300 high-resolution world flag images. It is an excellent resource for flag enthusiasts who are interested in vexillology, or those who want to learn and browse the flags of different countries. The app is also helpful in identifying any unknown flags by sorting them according to their colors and features such as stars, crescents, stripes, and union jacks.
The app features beautiful, full-screen zoomable SVG flag images that are suitable for high-resolution phones and tablets. It is perfect for showing support at sporting events and national occasions. Users can also use the app as flashcards by tapping the full-screen flag to turn on or off the flag name. The full-screen gallery scroll feature allows users to swipe left or right in full-screen mode to see the next flag. Additionally, users can easily access the country Wikipedia page and show the location on Google Maps by long-pressing a flag name. The app is completely ad-free.
Note: Due to a change in Chrome, full-screen flags are currently not working. The developer is waiting for Google to fix this issue.
